How To: Simple Valentine's Tablescape...Shop Your Home!
in decor, decorating, how to, plants and greenery, seasonal decor, tablescape, by Tracey Jones, February 06, 2020
Setting a Valentines or Galentines table can be fast and next to free by creatively shopping your home for decor that you already have on hand. I'm all about the blush this year so I grabbed all the pretty pink bits and bobs I had in my decor piles ( I 'd love to say decor closet but really it's a pile or piles in various spots) and then went to work.

New Year, New Look. Whats on Trend?
in Boho, Classic, decor, decorating, design trends, hygge, interior design, interior styling, paint, by Tracey Jones, January 23, 2018
Yes another New Year (cheers!) and another round of “Trends”. Lots to sift through in the home decor world these days! Many say conflicting things!
So... where do you go for the real goods?
If you it then that is pretty much all you need !
Really! It’s your home, you live there and if you love a certain look colour style then go for it! How to pull that all together is another whole thing and that's maybe where you look for help - magazines, inspiration pics (Pinterest Houzz) , call a friend with a good eye, call in a professional. We do A LOT of styling with only what homeowners currently have. It's amazing what a little shifting, editing and styling can do.
If you want a refresh but limited on time and budget (most of us!) There are simple quick ways to refresh and feel like you are up to date with your space.
Love throwing in some old and worn and mixing it with your new bits? ME TOO!
It's Friday...DIY time!
Seeing tons of cool ideas on what one can do with an old suitcase. The best part - beside the absolute coolness- is the STORAGE!
It's hidden unexpected storage in the form of a funky case.

It's the day after Labour Day....I know...not a new year technically but this for me is always the time to get back to work, get inspired and get things done!
(do I hear cheerful humming from all the moms on their way to school ?! " ...the most wonderful time of the year...." lol) I usually do better at my September resolutions than I do at my January endeavours so I am going to stick with that plan :)
I also made a promise to my family at the beginning of summer that I would detach from my computer ( unless work necessary)... and guess what...it was fine!
Living Room Face Lift!
in Benjamin Moore HC-45, decor, design, design dilemma, interior styling, Living room makeover, redesign, ReMarkable ReDesign, by Tracey Jones, April 25, 2013
Here's a recent living room redesign ... a room that started off ...well honestly, not too bad! The bones of the room were awesome...big open space, hardwood floors, fab fireplace, creamy linen drapery and roman shades, white slip covered sectional and chairs and 3 tall black bookcases.
Our client called us with her dilemma...its all there but its just not completely working. Hmmm..we have definitely heard that before. Great furniture is one thing but what really makes a room feel pulled together is the layers that come after the furniture....
Here is our first look at the space.

Room Candy's Top IKEA Hacks!
in add2cart.ca, Before and after, decor, DIY, furniture makeovers, IKEA, IKEA hacks, upcycle, by Tracey Jones, April 15, 2013
We live on an Island (which we LOVE)... but shopping Victoria can be difficult at times. We all, at one time or another pile into pick up trucks and vans and head over on the ferry to Vancouver to access stores like IKEA ,Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrel, CB2 , West Elm...
3 different friends - completely unrelated (including Stacey) were on the loose this weekend at IKEA.
That got me thinking of
The answer is that I really "need" nothing (nor another project!) so my friend order list was disappointingly small. We all accept and even <3 IKEA - standard living essentials!
But many of us do wish to make IKEA pieces uniquely ours....thus the IKEA HACK has evolved!
Here's some ( of millions ) of the hacks that have caught my eye. Try one and show us!
A: what I "need" (read: want) and
B: how can I upcycle an IKEA piece into something different?!

A styling and design blog? Really? In all our spare time.... But yes a design and decor blog that speaks from our heart and attempts to show what we try to get across in our work but sometimes is hard to nail in a static website or photo display or even in a conversation.
( especially when you are waving your arms about madly saying over and over OMG its so amazing...)
